About us
At Gloucestershire Counselling Service we aim to empower people to make positive lasting change in their lives. We do this by providing high quality and accessible training and counselling services to the communities of Gloucestershire.
About the Role
As the Diploma & Post Qualifying Year Course Lead at Gloucestershire Counselling Service (GCS), you will play a central role in the delivery and development of the Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Practice, a three-year BPC accredited course. You will lead the training team, manage the recruitment and induction of staff, and ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include organising team meetings, reviewing and developing course materials, and overseeing the continuous improvement of the course content through feedback and evaluations. You will work closely with the Training Coordinators and other team members to support the recruitment of trainees and the marketing of GCS’s counselling courses. Additionally, you will contribute to the professional development of training staff, engage in project work, and explore potential accreditation opportunities for the courses offered by GCS.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of counselling training at GCS, fostering an environment of collaboration, development, and high-quality learning.
About You
We are looking for a highly organized, dedicated, and skilled individual with a strong background in counselling and psychodynamic principles. You will bring a comprehensive understanding of counselling skills and have experience in managing projects and teams, preferably within an educational or adult learning context.
You will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally. Your collaborative nature will allow you to work closely with the wider training team, and you will have a genuine interest in supporting and developing trainees throughout their learning journey.
With a commitment to the values and mission of GCS, you will be self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage your time effectively. You will also demonstrate a non-judgemental approach when working with students, providing guidance and support as they navigate their training. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality education and supporting the development of future counsellors, we would love to hear from you.
