GCS is committed to providing accessible counselling to all members of our community. We believe financial barriers should not prevent individuals from receiving necessary therapeutic support. Our Inclusion Fund offers reduced rates to clients who could not otherwise afford our standard fees.
The Role:
By generously dedicating your expertise and time as a Qualified Volunteer Counsellor (Inclusion Fund), you will provide professional, high-quality counselling services to clients accessing GCS through this essential pathway.
- Deliver qualified therapeutic counselling to individuals who rely on our Inclusion Fund for support.
- Work with clients who may be experiencing complex and difficult situations, including those presenting with risk concerns and a history of trauma.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records in line with GCS and professional body standards.
- Uphold GCS’s commitment to safeguarding and ethical practice.
Who We Are Looking For
We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who:
- Hold a recognised professional counselling qualification (Diploma or equivalent).
- Are a member of a recognised professional body (e.g., BPC, BACP, UKCP) and adhere to their ethical framework.
- Have proven experience and are comfortable working with complex client presentations, including trauma and risk.
- Are passionate about accessible mental health care and supporting the most vulnerable in the community.
Commitment
We ask for a minimum commitment of at least one year to ensure consistency and stability for our clients.
Safeguarding and Compliance
GCS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
