About the Role

As a Study Skills Support Tutor at GCS, you will be an integral part of the academic journey for our Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling Skills students. In this role, you will offer tailored support, helping trainees develop essential study skills to excel in their assessments and academic progress. This support will include offering one-to-one sessions, addressing challenges such as dyslexia, neurodiversity, organisation, and essay writing. You will be expected to deliver flexible sessions when required, ensuring that students receive the help they need to succeed while adhering to the boundaries and objectives of the Diploma course.

You will collaborate closely with the Diploma Lead and Training Office to ensure that each student’s academic challenges are addressed promptly. The role is flexible, with hours varying based on demand, and will be offered on a fixed-term basis for one academic year.

About You

We are looking for a qualified and experienced psychodynamic counsellor or psychotherapist, ideally with a background in teaching or training. You should possess the ability to engage with students empathetically and with warmth, ensuring that you maintain a non-judgmental attitude throughout the support process. You must be confident in your presentation style and be able to deliver tailored support in areas such as essay writing, time management, and organisation. An understanding of the specific challenges that students may face, including neurodiversity and dyslexia, is highly beneficial.

You should have the ability to work flexibly, adapting to the needs of each student and liaising effectively with the Training Office and other staff members. A commitment to the values of GCS, as well as a willingness to embrace new learning environments, particularly virtual platforms, will also be essential.

About the Role

Gloucestershire Counselling Service (GCS) offers a Certificate in Counselling Skills, providing foundational training in counselling across multiple locations in Gloucestershire.

As a Seminar Tutor, you will deliver engaging and interactive sessions using both experiential and didactic teaching methods to support trainees in developing key counselling skills. You will lead weekly seminars, assess trainee progress, contribute to curriculum development, and ensure high training standards in line with professional ethical frameworks. The role involves working collaboratively with the training team and attending scheduled meetings to support the delivery of the programme.

About You

You are a qualified and experienced psychodynamic counsellor or psychotherapist (BACP, UKCP, BPC registered or equivalent) with a passion for training and development. Ideally, you have experience in an experiential teaching environment and are confident in facilitating learning both in-person and online. Strong communication skills, a supportive approach to teaching, and the ability to engage trainees in reflective learning are essential. A teaching qualification is desirable but not required.

About the Role

As the Diploma & Post Qualifying Year Course Lead at Gloucestershire Counselling Service (GCS), you will play a central role in the delivery and development of the Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Practice at GCS, a three-year BPC accredited course. You will lead the training team, manage the recruitment and induction of staff, and ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include organising team meetings, reviewing and developing course materials, and overseeing the continuous improvement of the course content through feedback and evaluations. You will work closely with the Training Coordinators and other team members to support the recruitment of trainees and the marketing of GCS’s counselling courses. Additionally, you will contribute to the professional development of training staff, engage in project work, and explore potential accreditation opportunities for the courses offered by GCS.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of counselling training at GCS, fostering an environment of collaboration, development, and high-quality learning.

About You

We are looking for a highly organised, dedicated, and skilled individual with a strong background in counselling and psychodynamic principles. Your role involves teaching, facilitating discussions, marking assignments, and supporting trainee development within the course framework. You will ensure that complex theoretical ideas are accessible, relevant, and applicable to clinical practice. Additionally, you will contribute to trainee assessments, review meetings, and curriculum development, ensuring that GCS maintains its high training standards in psychodynamic counselling.

About You

About the Role

As a Group Facilitator at Gloucestershire Counselling Service (GCS), you will play a key role in supporting the personal and professional development of trainees on our Certificate in Counselling Skills and Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Practice courses. You will be responsible for facilitating experiential groups, helping trainees enhance their self-awareness and interpersonal skills within a structured group setting.

Your role will involve leading weekly experiential group sessions (either in-person or remotely), ensuring a supportive and reflective environment for trainees to explore their experiences. You will work collaboratively with seminar tutors, the Training Office, and the wider GCS Training Team, contributing to the development of trainees and maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

This is an opportunity to shape the learning journey of future counsellors by guiding them through the group experience, fostering self-awareness, and reinforcing key counselling skills.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and skilled group facilitator with a strong background in group work and an understanding of psychodynamic principles. You will hold a relevant qualification in group facilitation and be registered with an accrediting body such as BACP, UKCP, or BPC. While group analyst training is desirable, it is not essential.

You will have experience in leading groups within various settings and a solid understanding of group dynamics in a training context. A key aspect of this role is distinguishing between experiential training groups and therapy groups, ensuring that trainees develop the necessary self-awareness and skills for their counselling journey.

With strong self-management, organisational, and communication skills, you will be confident in coordinating with other training staff and upholding professional and ethical standards.
