We are seeking a Theory Seminar Tutor to teach our module ‘Theoretical Foundations of Psychodynamic Counselling’ to groups of Year 1 Diploma course trainees from September 2020. The Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a well-established work-based clinical training which GCS has provided for over 20 years leading to a professional qualification in psychodynamic counselling. The programme provides the clinical and theoretical elements of the training as a psychodynamic counsellor.
The role of a Theory Seminar Tutor is to teach and assist trainees in the development of psychodynamic counselling skills and their understanding of psychodynamic theory and its application to work with clients. There are established programmes for this module.
Applicants should be experienced and qualified counsellors with teaching or training experience. A psychodynamic or psychoanalytical training and orientation is essential. As our Diploma is accredited by BPC, registration with BPC or an equivalent status with another body such as BACP or UKCP is preferred.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday August 19th 2020 and interviews will be held during the week of 24th August 2020.
The theory seminars are held on Tuesdays from 1.00pm to 2.30pm. The remuneration is £36 per hour plus holiday pay. The contract is for 30 weeks, 1.5 hours per week, of the academic year. You will be required to attend training team meetings and an allowance for attendance is claimable at £12 per hour.
